For this new award, the judges were looking for an individual who had made a real difference to and has had a significant impact on their organisation and/or the furniture trade. Several leading candidates were considered, from retail to manufacturing and supply chain to suppliers.
'To come in and change so much about a business is never easy, especially in front of national TV coverage - BBC's "I'll Show Them Who's Boss" and in a family situation, where emotions can run high. Tackling such a major overhaul required tremendous courage, especially from someone with so little industry experience.'
